46th Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, "150 years of ecology – lessons for the future",
Marburg , 05 – 09 September 2016

Dear Colleagues,
in 2016, the University of Marburg hosts the 46th Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The meeting will take place from September 5 to 9, 2016 in Marburg, Germany.

In the year 1866 Ernst Haeckel introduced the term “Ecology”. The guiding theme of the 46th Annual Meeting is therefore "150 years of ecology – lessons for the future". The overarching aim of the conference is to stimulate a critical assessment of the status quo of the different disciplines of ecology. At the same time and taking into account the latest developments in ecological research we will address the following questions: Where are we? What have we learned? What are the gaps? What are the challenges for the future? We aim to present an outstanding and interesting program covering the diversity of ecological research.
